Raised in an elite foster center off the California coast, sixteen-year-old Tabitha’s been sculpted into a world-class athlete. The blurb called to me and I followed .
In the beginning I was worried if I would like this book. I am not much of a fan of Dystopian settings – interesting enough I often try just to find out this is one of the few genres where I prefer to see the movie instead of reading a book. So I was afraid that it would be the same case here .
I could not give the book more than 4 stars because I was missing the personal connection to the characters. But in total it was a solid read that I can recommend. I was surprised about the way the storyline developed, because honestly the second reason for me to be worried about reading this book was the fear that it might be another start of a series or trilogies of which I think there are sometimes to many out there. Because not every story needs three books.
The writing was solid and the characters are well developed. There is also more romance in it that the blurb might let you think, which I liked. It was my first book from this author and it seems to be her debut to – and a remarkable one at that too, I am pretty sure it will find many lovers as it is a fast and enjoyable read.
