Blurb : To love a Dark One is to invite death…

It is wrong to love her.

It is worse to want her.

It is sin to consume her.

I desire all three.

I’ve been given thirty days to prove my love to another immortal–as a human.

Cursed to use nothing but the side of myself I’ve always despised to win her affection.

I am Cassius, the King of the immortals, A Dark One.

And today I tasted fear for the first time.

How can I win her when my human emotions over take every ounce of logic I possess?

A darkness is brewing.

One I cannot stop as a human.

One that Stephanie, my loves visions, have shown, will be my end.

Thirty days ago I was King of the immortals.

Today I know fear.

Today I know how I will die.

By her hand.

The woman I love.

Review : I felt that I needed a little paranormal after tons of romance reads. But when you read so many books you tend to get picky and just some “simple” story won’t do… But then you stumble over the fact that Rachel van Dyken has a new book coming out and surprise, surprise it is a paranormal romance … O wait … it is the third book in a series that means there are two books out there waiting for me. And I knew they would be perfect for my reading needs. Because Ms. van Dyken does not “do simple” – not by a long shot. Her books always have depth. She mixes elements of suspense with romance and adds a little fun just as spice. But be warned after each fun she adds there is something hiding … it might be sarcasm (still not sure if Cassius grasped that concept) and also tons of heartache (That’s when you meet a werewolf that eats pinecones instead of meat) You meet all sorts of angels, vampires, demons, sirens – she creates a world within our world and brings those supernatural beings nearer to the human world – instead of removing them to place them on a pedestal like other authors do. I read now The Dark Ones (The Dark Ones Saga #1) featuring Ethan & Genesis’ storyandUntouchable Darkness (The Dark Ones Saga #2) featuring Cassius & StephanieWhile I really liked the first – I absolutely loved the second, because I am and always will be a sucker for the dark ones (pun intended) – the bad boys … Now I am looking forward to the third book …
